European Commission publish update to MoReq - MoReq2

The European Commission’s MoReq "Model Requirement for the Management of Electronic Records" published in 2001 which is widely used both in Europe and elsewhere has been updated and published this month as MoReq2.

MoReq2 provides an update of the current specification to take account of adoption of new technology and legislation and has been extended to cover related Content and Document technologies which have been widely adopted over the past few years. Also testing scripts have been provided which will be the base for the introduction of assessment centres for suppliers to submit their ERM software for evaluation.

Martin Waldron member of the European Commissions DLM Forum Executive Committee's MoReq 2 Review Group

IFC Chairman Martin Waldron who was co-author of MoReq, the EU Model Requirements for Electronic Record Management Systems is a member of the European Commissions DLM Forum Executive Committee's Review Group for MoReq2 which is due to be completed by November 2007.

Local Government Classification Scheme Version 2.01 Update!

Local Government Classification Scheme version 2 was released on 24 August. An update to the LGCS v2.01 has now been released for consultation. IFC has developed version 2 on behalf of the Records Management Society of Great Britain. Version 2 includes an updated mapping to the Integrated Public Service Vocabulary and has also added retention guidance.
